Preface: How this Trip Came About

I describe how I decided to go to South Africa, and what it was like to travel there, and my arrival.

Part I Pilanesberg National Park-The Chase

I went to Pilanesberg and went on a Safari Drive.  At the end of the drive we got into the Ultimate Lion Chase, where we ended up in a death match with 4 other jeeps and won.

Part II: Lost in Translation

Part III: Manyane Resort

Running into a baboon troop during a morning walk around Manyane Resort at Pilanesberg.

Part IV: Sun City & The Valley of the Waves

While in Pilanesberg we spent a day at The Valley of the Waves in Sun City.  We went on a hike through the jungle and ended up in a very expensive and exclusive hotel called the Palace at Lost City.

Part V: The Party Van

We were exhausted after our day at the Valley of the Waves and couldn’t find the bus to the parking lot, so we hitchhiked.

Part VI: January 7, 2009

Today was the 6th anniversary of my sister’s death.  I spent it at a lion park and visiting a local township called Daveyton.

Part VII:  Kruger National Park- Elephants and Lions

I went to Kruger National Park January 8-10.  On my first Safari I spotted elephants at a watering hole and lions sleeping right off of the road.
